Well as most of you know, I try to keep currant on my blog. HOWEVER....the most horrifying thing has hit me the past few months. After many frustration moments with my computer, I finally got the big "C" word dumped on me. "COMPUTER CRASH". First time in 15 years, and all because of a stupid mistake on my part. BEWARE....when you get what looks like a legit error message saying download anti-spyware to avoid the detected virus on your computer!!!! Well, I did it, I'm ashamed to admit because I thought I was way too smart and too on guard for this to happen. Now, I not only had to have a new hard drive, I think all my years of saved "pictures and artwork" are lost. PLEASE SAY A PRAYER FOR ME THAT SOME OF THIS CAN BE RETREIVED! At any rate and let this be a warning for all of you.....PLEASE get BACK UP DISCS of everything on your computer. I can't believe I was this stupid! But now, I'm faced with basically starting over and can't seem to get motivated back into my art. Maybe in the coming days, I sincerely HOPE!

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! YEAH.....notice I didn't say which one? I want my whole day to be filled with nothing but fun.....any suggestions? Of course my MAIN thrill will be spent later in the day with my Daughter and my 3 precious GRANDsons. Sadly I won't be with my Son because he lives in Charleston, SC but he sent me an EGram 1st thing this a.m. , so that made me very happy. I painted myself a pin to wear all day for fun....seeee, I'm a KIDDER [& just a kid at heart].

Also, I have started a large painting of my favorite things to paint....this is the rough draft and hopefully if I finish today I will add the finished one. But here's what I have so far.

I will close with a great Birthday saying....Some people no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty; they merely move it from their faces to their hearts.

For all you little Tabby Lovers.....It's so gloomy out today....we've had so much darn rain I decided to perk myself up. She turned out a little more serious than I intended but I think Little Tabby Too is a hoot. Even though I've never owned cats, I've always loved painting them. I had 2 little Poms that were just my heart and when they had to be put down 3 yrs ago it totally devastated me. But I'm around cats all the time since my friends all have them and have always found them totally facinating! These two reside presently at my Etsy Shop. Today what started out to be a little Fairy holding a kitten sort of evolved into this.....don't know why. I love butterflies and I think they signify HOPE or new journeys. Also, I kept thinking "Hope Gives You Wings"....then I knew what I would paint. We all have hope for something whether it be hope for our destiny, our health, or our future journeys. This turned out to be a far cry from holding a kitten don't you think? I'm really enjoying this experimenting with textures, colors and mediums...so much fun.

This morning I decided I would satisfy my craving for sweets by painting this LIL' CUPCAKE FAIRY....I was very pleased with it, but found when I finished I was craving a cupcake even more....sooooo you know the rest LOL! At any rate I need to stay away from painting sweets for a few days anyway. This all started the other day when I painted my little canvas that said, "Sometimes you just NEED a cookie" because I was craving animal cookies. I have just finished my newest "Lovee" Art Doll.... "THE LITTLEST ANGEL LOVEE" She is a mere 6 inches tall. She has just been added to my Etsy Shop. I have mounted her on a wood stand. She can be removed from her stand. Very time consuming but I loved every minute of it. She is had done from start to finish. This is a soft sculpted doll that I have hand painted and adorned with vintage fabrics and tulle. She was such a joy to create....so serene and beautiful in person...lots of sparkle.

I have 2 new dolls I just finished....here's Little Mammy Blackbird.. I totally hand sculpted her as a challenge to myself. One of my clients had asked me if I could do a Mammy. Being from the South I was always taught to respect all colors and races of people, so I did this with all due respect. Plus the fact that I grew up loving the classic, "Gone With The Wind" and like most of us just fell in love with "Mammy". So, I did a Mammy doll and here are the results.

I did lots of added things to these....hand sculpted their little props and on the one with the blue bird I even made her collar and cuffs and buttons out of clay...oh, and her heart berrette. I've been TAGGED TWICE.....

Yipes....I've been tagged.....TWICE this week, by krissyart and Crowing about Primitives.
I am so flattered except I'm not sure what to do about it LOL! At any rate, I will try my best to do this.OK....6 random things about myself.

1. Even though I've retired from music [was a singer with our Orchestra for 35 years, I absolutely ADORE to sing. The only thing I adore more, is painting and thank goodness, it knows no age! Hence my name Bonnesinger....my real name is Bonnie Barrasso

2. I have 2 children, a daughter and a son and my daughter has given us
3 beautiful GRANDsons. Next to my children, they are the true light of my life...to them I'm known as "Mimsy".

3. I am a very fit Grandmom....I've been an avid walker and aerobics nut for the past 20 yrs., otherwise I could have never kept the pace of my life.

4. I have alway, all my life, been obsessed with painting faces....with the focus on eyes. It doesn't matter what subject....people, animals, whatever....just love it.

5. I have a part time job at a women's Dress shop called J.Jill. I absolutely adore the girls I work with....they are truly my 2nd Family.

6. OK....wow, #6....this is easier than I thought. OK, big dark secret....I have a truly illegal sweet tooth. OMG, I just really love sweets but just can't allow myself to indulge. However, during the Holidays, I did put away my share of goodies and am now paying for it, unfortunately, so I am really cutting down. Hey, I'll be right back, gotta go grab another Brownie....I WISH!!!!, just kidding.OK, there you have it....

The colors in her face are much more detailed and vibrant, but because of the clay heart in the scanner, it doesn't show up as clearly. Also, the clay heart is movable, so you can position it however you want.

Hey there, Well today I got industrious and finished 2 of my little "Block Paintings"....I love to just sketch and start fooling around with backgrounds and different things to do to my little paintings. These 2 will be headed for Etsy or an Art Boutique that sells my little creations.

I love to paint little Owls and when I saw this saying someplace on line it brought back my recolections of Hollywood, when I lived there and when I met the great "who loves you baby", Telly Savalas. He was a very caring person, believe it or not and just a good human being. So, anyways here are my 2 little art ventures this week. Would love your comments.

Well I'm a little late for the PWGL HARVEST, but I'll add this one anyway. This was fun, fun, fun to create and if she doesn't sell she is headed for a Boutique Art Show here in Memphis next week. I love how vibrant the colors are. I used lots of detail and technique....charcoal pencil, oil pastels, etc. I am pleased with the results. Added a few new images today..... The Angel is on a wood plaque 19x6....I have painted the words "An Angel to Watch Over Us" at the top. I have distressed the raised wood border giving this piece a vintage look. Her wide wing span is also distressed....she is now on Etsy.

Today I'm very excited because my little "SISTERS" painting just got me vote into the "Treasury" on Etsy. Well as you can see today was experiment day for me at the ole blog....I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing but I AM DETERMINED! For years on Ebay everyone knows me as bonnesinger....for luck I am trying a new name derived from what my 3 GRANDsons call me, which is "MIMSY"....hey, maybe I should be called "MimsysWhmsy"..... I hope you will enjoy your visit...where dreams have wings and whimsy. After singing professionally and successfully for the past 35 years, I now have time to dedicate my time solely to my little world of whimsy. Sometimes you will see a more serious side of my whimsy....none the less, it will still have whimsy. I like to view my art through the eyes of a child. I hope you like what I do and will visit with me often. Blogs are a new experience for me but I hope to grow and learn every day.
